Discover the science behind our bestselling Dental pod.

How does the Dental pod work?
An Effortless Solution
The Dental pod is powered by the latest ultrasonic technology to deliver a sparkling clean dental appliance time after time.
Ultrasonic Waves
The Dental pod uses high-frequency dynamic 42,000 hz ultrasonic waves to vibrate the solution. This produces millions of nano-scale bubbles in a phenomenon called ‘cavitation’.
Cavitation
These bubbles rapidly expand and collapse, release a large amount of energy, scouring and smashing grime, bacteria and plaque while being non abrasive to your dental appliance. This process occurs over 4,000 times per second.
Sonoporation
Cavitation eradicates pathogens by forcing a water bubble inside cell walls, rendering them inactive. This process is called ‘sonoporation’, and leaves you with a hygienically clean appliance free of bacteria and viruses.

Data and Trials

Does the Dental Pod really work better than alternative cleaning methods? We put our tech to the test.

The DPZ01 Study was conducted by the team at Zima Dental.

The study focused on comparing the effectiveness of five different cleaning methods in removing harmful oral fungus from 120 orthodontic aligners.

The amount of oral fungus after each cleaning method was then recorded.

The study concluded that the Dental pod was by far the most effective method in removing oral fungus from the aligners.

The F22 Study was Conducted by Independent orthodontists.

Each participant underwent a 14-day course of wearing aligners assigned with 9 different cleaning protocols.

This was followed by electron microscope analysis to assess efficacy.

The technology of the Dental pod was significantly more effective than the other 8 cleaning methods.
